If you are looking for ways to go green and help mother earth on your boat then you need to get some solar panels so that you can turn sunlight into usable power fro you boat. There are 3 main types of solar panels that you can use to product electricity for your boat. Here are a few things that you need to know about before you purchase the wrong solar panel for your boat because not all of them are the same.
The first type of solar panel you can get for your boat is called the monocrystalline panel or cell. This cell converts almost all of the sunlight into usable energy for your boat. This is a great thing if you are looking to use a lot of power. Also this cell doesn’t take up a lot of space on the boat so you will have more room to maneuver around. Some bad things about this type of panel is that it offers no shade value because of its size and produces a lot of power. If you don’t need all that power, this might not be the best cell for you.
The second type is called the polycrystalline cell. They are just about the same as the monocrystalline cell but with one main difference, they are even smaller in size when compared to the monocrystalline cell. The polycrystalline cells also have a higher concentration which means it can turn a little bit of sunlight into a lot of electricity to power your boat.
The last type is called the amorphous cell. This cell is almost the complete opposite of the other two in both the positive and negative aspects.
